Tubaro Aurelia
Full
professor at the University of Trieste. Research activity on the
evaluation of the pharmacological and toxicological properties, of
natural products and on finding the relevant active or toxic
principles. In particular since 1989, she is active in the algal toxin
field mainly focusing on the algal detection test development and the
evaluation of the toxicological properties of algal toxins. From 2006
she is chairing the “Palytoxin and Ostreocins” working
Group of the Presidentail Task Force of AOAC. In 2007 she was invited
as a toxicological expert in the “Working Group on
Palytoxin” of the European Community. From 1995 she is included
in the International directory of experts in toxic and harmful algae of
UNESCO.

ecology and taxonomy of marine phytoplankton and harmful algae.
Scientific activity on the study of spatial and temporal distribution
of marine coastal phytoplankton with particular attention to the
planktonic microalgae seasonality in relation to the environmental
factors. Special focus on virus and microalgae, cryptic and
pseudo-cryptic biodiversity of marine phytoplankton and new species
